2010 was a great year for Melbourne band The Solomons, who originally formed in late 2007. They released their debut EP in March 2010 through Popboomerang Records and MGM. The singles ‘Waiting for Something to Happen’ and ‘Ways of Escape’ received strong radio play on triple j and community radio nationally.

They’ve already shared the stage with Tim Rogers, British India, Oh Mercy, The Vasco Era, Money For Rope and Owl Eyes. They were announced as recipients of the Victoria Rocks funding program in late 2010.

Recorded at Hothouse Studios by Finn Keane and Craif Harnath, their single ‘On My Own’ was released in August and moved straight to triple j’s Unearthed playlist. It was mixed by the famous Barny (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Temper Trap) in the UK and mastered by also-famous Alex Wharton (Radiohead, Bjork, Chemical Brothers, UNKLE) at the also-really-famous Abbey Road Studios.

The Solomons’ debut album should be out in 2012.
